This proprietary blend is a lightly smoky black tea blend with a hint of citrusy bergamot - basically a mellow, smoky Earl Grey. The name comes from the recipes origin: correspondence at the Morgan Library in New York City shows the association between J.P. Morgan and Mr. Lester Vail, a New York City tea taster in the 1920s. These esteemed gentlemen created a most distinctive tea blend. The original formula of Mr. Vail and J.P. Morgan is still used today.
