This 10-oz mug is handmade in Japan and features a unique glaze effect called “yo-hen” along with a warmly-textured base of unglazed clay. The mug was developed by working closely with traditional potters in Japan and is made of sandstone unique to Hasami region in Japan, which mixes sand and rocks with local Amakusa porcelain stone. This creates the ceramic-like organic texture with the durability of high-quality porcelain. The iron in the sandstone also reacts with the glaze to create deep nuanced colors and textures. Please expect some variation due to the handmade nature of this item.
