Compressed tea was hauled via camel caravans from China to Russia. Compressing the tea into a brick meant that the tea could be packed more efficiently. Pieces of the brick could be broken off and used for currency along the route. Makes a historic and artistic gift - suitable for framing and is also food grade. Just scrape off the appropriate amount and use it just as you would loose tea.
Each tea brick measures approximately 7.5" x 4.5" and weighs about 18 ounces (500 grams).
