Origin: Hu Zhou City, Zhejiang, China Cultivar: Ye Zi Sun Qun Ti Zhong (Wild Purple Bamboo Local) Harvest: early April 2018 Picking Standard: 1 but to 1 slightly opened leaf Tea Master: Ms. Pei Hong Feng
Named for the shape of the tea buds, which resemble little pointy bamboo shoots, this tea grows wild. It is organic and entirely hand processed by a 72-year-old woman tea master - rare in the tea world. She carefully dries and fires this tea first in a wok, then in a bamboo basket over a charcoal fire. The leaves are uniform and dark green, yielding a clean cup with a sweet aftertaste. Look for notes of nut and a wildflower aroma.
