The Story of Room Eleven Blend (it's Heaven)
Created by The Perennial Tea Room; Seattle, WA.
The Room Eleven Blend of tea was started when the students of Room 11 at Seattle's Wedgwood Elementary asked Julee, who was the mom of one of the students, to come up with the blend of tea that was thrown overboard at the Boston Tea Party. They had researched it, and gave her and Sue the recipe. They blended it, and brought it to school with traditional English biscuits so that the kids could have a tea party of their own. One of the secretaries even loaned them her collection of teacups, so that they could get the atmosphere of what having a real tea party is like. Everyone liked it so much, that Julee and Sue decided that if Room 11 could come up with a name, that they would sell it. They took about a week to decide, including having a couple of votes, and finally they chose Room Eleven Blend (It's Heaven). That was in 1994, and they have been selling it ever since.
